Agree. And, I think there must have been a "Philly crew" that made flics for the "family" run houses in downtown Philly near City Hall. Since these were run by a different "family" than NY, maybe different directors or the same using an alias? idk. just theorizing out loud...
I agree that Bobby, Clea, Paula, and Veri are part of the usual NY crew of actors. But there were other directors operating in NY in 1977. There is no director listed for this film in IAFD but I looked up some of Clea's other 1977 films and found she was in flicks that year directed by Henry Paris, Carter Stevens, and a bunch of other names (Between Clea and Bobby, at least 10) I don't recognize. I don't think Strange FM was directed by Henry Paris (it isn't classy enough), or Carter Stevens (just not his style). Bottom line, I have no idea who directed this flick.
Just curious, who's "crew" is this? It can't be directed by Russ Carlson because he was never scared to put one of his many alias' on them but Bobby frequently in his productions/ NY crew. If it wasn't Carlson then he had some local competition for the mob run xxx theaters in NY? Maybe that's why his agent thrown out a window?
